I began my career with WTRS in 1991. It was my first job in radio, and I chose WTRS because it had the highest ratings in the market and I figured it must be the easiest to sell. I was right. Then we purchased our Gainesville competitor, Gator Country 101, then WMFQ, and so on, until we had six stations in the Ocala-Gainesville area. And we're allowed to sell them all! What a terrific business!
I've lived in Ocala since 1980 with my wife Kathy and daughter Lynsey. I have a business background as the past owner of four retail stores throughout Florida. I used radio advertising to grow my company plus I enjoyed creating my own commercials. So, when I sold my small chain and could choose any career I desired, radio was my natural choice and I've never regretted it. This is a fun, creative, challenging, and lucrative business, and Asterisk Communications, our parent company, is without a doubt the very best place to work. We've got some exciting new opportunities and directions in our future here at Asterisk, so by all means, stay tuned!
